Laparoscopic plastic surgery for hydronephrosis

Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty (Ureteropelvic Junction Reconstruction)

Hydronephrosis is treated with the goal of eliminating the obstruction that prevents the natural outflow of urine.
During surgery, the physician performs a reconstruction of the renal pelvis and calyceal system.

Modern technology — three-dimensional (3D) modeling — allows for thorough preoperative planning.
It is performed based on CT imaging and enables the surgeon to account for the patient’s physiological characteristics and the stage of the disease prior to intervention.

The gold standard for treating this condition is laparoscopic surgery. It is minimally painful for the patient, offers a short rehabilitation period,
and has very few contraindications.

Laparoscopy is performed without large incisions, using small punctures(approximately 1 cm) in the abdominal wall. Hospital stay is typically only 4–5 days, while the recovery period is relatively short.
